The Ecommerce Innovation Alliance (EIA) is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to bringing the e-commerce industry together to advocate for common sense policies that strengthen the e-commerce ecosystem while protecting consumer privacy.

EIA’s leadership team brings decades of experience in ecommerce policy and regulation together. We educate members about best practices and compliance solutions in evolving areas like state and federal telemarketing laws, AI regulations, ADA website compliance, data privacy, and consumer protection.

EIA represents our members’ shared interests in the legislative and regulatory arenas. We educate policymakers on the real-world impact of laws and regulations. We are consistently striving for a fair balance that protects consumers while also allowing ecommerce brands to thrive.

On August 13, 2026, the U.S. Court of International Trade handed down a decision that ecommerce importers have been watching closely. In Axle of Dearborn, Inc. d/b/a Detroit Axle v. Department of Commerce, a three-judge panel ruled that the President’s rescission of the de minimis exemption was lawful under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The court granted summary judgment to the government on the two counts that mattered most to the future of duty-free, low-value shipments.
