ABOUT ECOMMERCE INNOVATION ALLIANCE
Operating at the intersection of ecommerce, technology, and industry advocacy
The Ecommerce Innovation Alliance (EIA) was formed in 2023 as a nonprofit trade association dedicated to bringing the e-commerce industry together to advocate for common sense policies that strengthen the e-commerce ecosystem while protecting consumer privacy.
We work to educate legislators and regulators on the real world impact of regulations and advocate for reforms to correct unintended consequences. We educate our members on how to implement compliance programs and create a place in which lessons learned can be shared.
Our members are generally U.S.-based e-commerce businesses as well as vendors that directly support these businesses.

Current Priority Areas
Telemarketing Laws and Regulations
Ecommerce companies face strict regulations under the TCPA and varying state laws regarding voice and text communications. These laws often result in costly litigation due to conflicting obligations and uncapped damages. We advocate for legislative solutions to mitigate these harmful impacts.
Import Tariffs
Understanding the real-world impact of tariff and other trade policies is crucial. The Ecommerce Innovation Alliance is dedicated to informing policymakers on the consequences of tariff policies, advocating for solutions that balance national security with the economic health of the US ecommerce sector, and ensuring their voices are heard.
Protecting AI and RCS
AI and RCS hold tremendous promise for ecommerce companies to be able to provide personalized, scalable customer engagement. We advocate for responsible use, opposing over-regulation that hinders these technologies’ potential for cost-effective, customer-centric communication.
ADA Litigation
Ecommerce businesses face significant ADA and accessibility website litigation risks. To protect against abusive lawsuits from serial plaintiffs, we advocate for clear, actionable guidance on ADA compliance, ensuring legitimate accessibility concerns are addressed without undue burden.
