Sam Rotner

Founder,
Patrol

Sam Rotner is the founder of Patrol, a Boston-based startup building an AI-native accessibility platform for e-commerce. Patrol helps Shopify merchants and growing brands become ADA compliant by automating accessibility auditing, user testing, and remediation work that would otherwise require custom development. Since launching in 2024, the company has resolved more than 15 million accessibility violations for its customers, and it recently integrated with Shopify’s Sidekick AI assistant. Patrol is backed by NextView Ventures, NVP, Founder Collective, Hawke Media, Pari Passu Venture Partners, and others.

Rotner comes to entrepreneurship with experience in both investing and go-to-market. Before founding Patrol, he spent two years as an investor at OpenView, an expansion-stage venture firm focused on B2B software, where he worked on investments in Parabola and Chargeflow. Earlier, he worked in go-to-market at Privy, the e-commerce marketing platform, through its acquisition by Attentive. He also held business development and operations roles at HarperDB and Paperless Parts. He remains active as an angel investor and venture scout, backing early-stage companies including Confido and CreativeOS.

Rotner is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford. He has volunteered with Special Olympics, Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation, and the Pan-Mass Challenge.
