Landon Edmond

Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary,
Klaviyo

Landon Edmond is Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Klaviyo, the Boston-based platform that helps businesses use their customer data to power marketing, messaging, and service. Since joining in December 2020, he has built and led Klaviyo’s global legal function, overseeing corporate governance, securities, commercial transactions, privacy and data protection, intellectual property, employment, and regulatory matters for a company whose products sit at the intersection of customer data and digital communication.

Landon arrived at Klaviyo as part of a cohort of senior leaders brought in to steer the company’s next phase of growth. Over the following years he helped prepare the company for life as a public company, leading the legal work behind Klaviyo’s 2023 initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange and establishing the governance, disclosure, and compliance infrastructure that a listed company requires. Today his team also advises on emerging areas such as AI governance and global data regulation as Klaviyo expands its AI-powered products and international footprint.

Landon brings more than 25 years of experience in technology law, much of it spent scaling legal organizations through hypergrowth, acquisitions, and global expansion. Before Klaviyo, he spent eight years at SAP in a series of senior leadership roles, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of SAP Cloud, where he led a team of more than 300 legal professionals across more than 40 countries. He joined SAP through its 2012 acquisition of Ariba, the spend management software company, where he had spent twelve years in roles of increasing responsibility, ultimately serving as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer and helping guide the company through its sale to SAP.

Landon began his career as an attorney at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where he focused on corporate and technology transactions.

Beyond his role at Klaviyo, Landon is a frequent voice on the path to the public markets and has spoken at the NYSE IPO Summit about Klaviyo’s IPO journey and lessons for companies preparing to go public. He serves on the Law School Advisory Board at Santa Clara University School of Law, where he earned his J.D.
