Patrick Brennan
Head of Government Relations,
LendingTree
Patrick Brennan serves as Head of Government Relations at LendingTree, where he works with policymakers across the country to advance policies that help consumers make informed financial decisions and expand access to mortgages, insurance, personal loans, and other financial products. He is passionate about ensuring that consumers have the information, tools, and choices they need to achieve their financial goals.
Patrick’s commitment to consumer finance and financial literacy was shaped during his years on Capitol Hill. He began his congressional career working for Congressman John Spratt of South Carolina, serving during the height of the 2008 financial crisis as Congress grappled with stabilizing the nation’s economy and restoring confidence in the financial system. Working for
one of Congress’s leading fiscal policy voices provided him with a firsthand understanding of the importance of responsible financial policy, economic stability, and consumer confidence.
He later served as a Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Kay Hagan, where he supported the Senator’s efforts to establish a national grant program to strengthen financial literacy education. That experience reinforced his belief that financial knowledge is one of the most powerful tools for creating economic opportunity and helping families build long-term financial security.
Throughout his career, Patrick has worked at the intersection of public policy and consumer advocacy, helping shape legislation and regulations that promote transparency, innovation, and
greater access to financial services. At LendingTree, he partners with elected officials, regulators, consumer organizations, and industry leaders to support policies that empower consumers to compare financial products, shop with confidence, and make decisions that are right for themselves.
