Operation Robocall Roundup" Targets Illegal Robocalls

The persistent issue of illegal robocalls continues to impact consumers and businesses across the United States. In a further effort to address this pervasive problem, a multi-state initiative dubbed “Operation Robocall Roundup” has been launched by the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force, directly targeting voice service providers that fail to comply with federal regulations and enable unwanted call traffic.

Launched on August 7, 2025, “Operation Robocall Roundup” is the latest multistate effort led by the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force that aims to combat illegal robocalls across the United States.

Formed in 2022, the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force comprises 51 bipartisan attorneys general. It investigates and takes legal action against companies responsible for significant volumes of illegal and fraudulent robocall traffic.

As part of this operation, the Task Force issued warning letters to voice service providers. These warnings target companies that have not complied with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules regarding:

  • Responding to government traceback requests.
  • Registering in the FCC’s Robocall Mitigation Databases.
  • Filing a plan describing how they will reduce illegal robocalls on their network.

By disregarding these rules, these companies allow robocallers onto their networks, which then route illegal calls to consumers.

Who Received Warnings?

  • 37 Voice Service Providers: These primary providers received direct warning letters. The Task Force’s review of call traffic indicated their involvement in transmitting calls associated with high-volume illegal and/or suspicious robocall campaigns. A list of some of these providers includes Advantage Investors, Alpha Stream, BBT Voice, DigitalOcean, Dtel Network, EON Telecom, Flow VOIP, Infinity SIP, Lexico Telecom, Mexico IP Phones, Nexusphere VOIP, Pleedex, Quantum Link, Ringnition, SK Teleco, SkyPulse VOIP, Telnextrix, Terra Voip, and Voip Torque.
  • Over 100 Downstream Providers: Letters were also sent to these providers who accept call traffic from the 37 warned companies. This alerts them that they are doing business with non-compliant actors.

The FCC is also closely examining several of these companies, recently announcing the removal of seven from the Robocall Mitigation Database, preventing other providers from routing their calls.
