The firm behind the new quiet-hours filing campaign we have been tracking has gone through a round of layoffs across both its California and Florida operations according to Faythe Gutierrez, the attorney whose California filings first put the firm on our radar. Ms. Gutierrez confirmed to EIA that she was part of the layoffs.
What We Know About Her Departure
We first were alerted that Ms. Gutierrez departed the firm, PLG Damages Attorneys, when a reader shared an automatic reply from Ms. Gutierrez’s firm email address advising senders that she was no longer with the firm:
“Please be advised that attorney Faythe Gutierrez is no longer with the firm. To ensure your inquiry or ongoing matter continues to receive our full and immediate attention, please direct all future correspondence to Attorney Vinit Venkatesh… Vinit and our team will be more than happy to assist you moving forward.“
Reached via LinkedIn for comment, Ms. Gutierrez told us her departure was part of a broader staff reduction at the firm spanning two states:
“PLG went through a round of layoffs in both CA and FL, and I was bottom man on the pole. My cases will be taken over by another barred CA attorney.”
The Open Question: Dozens of Pending Cases
The layoff leaves an obvious question: what happens to the at least 74 cases Ms. Gutierrez filed? She told us her matters will be taken over by another California-barred attorney. As of publication, however, Ms. Gutierrez had not advised the court of her withdrawal and notice regarding change of counsel had only been filed in a few matters, nearly all of which were then immediately dismissed. We have not been able to determine whether substitution of counsel will be entered on the dockets in all of the remaining cases and whether the other cases will be similarly dismissed.
The Firm’s Response
Before publishing this update, EIA also reached out to the firm for comment requesting comment by Thursday, June 18, 2026. Managing Partner Vinit Venkatesh responded that he was out of the office and would review our inquiry and respond upon his return on Monday, June 22, 2026. As of the time of this publication, no response has been received.

We will keep tracking the docket across all the firm’s filing attorneys. If you are a defendant in one of these matters, or if you spot a development we have missed, please write in.
